Tariffs for Containers Handling

Article 5:

A- Container handling tariffs applied on shipping agent or consignee are determined as per following table no.2.

Article 6:

The following remarks should be taken into consideration in application of article 5 (table no. 2 and table 2-DG):
 
A- A rebate of 27% on codes marked with * in the table in case of exported or re-exported containers by sea.
B- Full containers handling on quay are compulsory when using mobile cranes with capacity of 165 and 300 tons or using the vessel’s own gears.
C- Operation C22 is a must whenever the receiver selects an empty container determined by number or specifications. Operation C22 dispenses of operation C4.
D- The operation of C28 will be done when needed by decision of Beirut Port administration, and will be applied on the empty containers exceeding the number of empty containers -D- free of storage calculated as per the formula of article (22).
E- In case operation C29 requested more than 4 hours, shipping agent can issue a BTS “EC2H” (2 hours of electricity).
F- Fee C27 is automatically applied with each ticket for carrying out private works to unload a container in the yard or in the warehouse.
G- The C32 fee consists of $15 for the inspection service and $5 for the bolt seal fee.
H- Operation C19 is due on the maritime agent for containers containing hazardous materials, when unloading from the ship and when loading onto it.
I- Operations C20 and C20-DG are fulfilled as soon as a leak occurs in the container while it is in the port, whether in the container terminal or outside of it.
J- Operations C19, C20 and C20-DG apply to transhipment containers. In this case, C20 and C20-DG apply as in paragraph (I) above, and C19 is applied once (when loading onto the ship).
K- C26 is mandatory if there are no labels on all four sides of the container.
L- C25 is mandatory for an empty container from which hazardous materials have been emptied, and after it has been cleaned and disinfected. It is also mandatory for a full container that bears labels that do not correspond to the type of hazardous materials it contains.
M- Every empty tank or ordinary container that contains remnants of hazardous materials shall be treated as a full container, and therefore shall be subject to the fees applicable to containers containing hazardous goods unless it has been sterilized and cleaned as required.
N- The Port Administration reserves the right to move containers that are exposed to leakage or spillage of hazardous materials to any other location within or outside the container terminal, in accordance with public safety requirements and at the expense of the concerned party.
O- C35 is applied when the service is available.
